This day we leave at 8:00 a.m. on a road is halfway paved and halfway dirt but in good conditions. La Tigra is just 15 miles from the capital city with the tour passing through El Hatillo and Juteapa. There is another entrance near San Juancito but it is farther away.
With an extension of over 238 squared kilometers, this park has broad leaf clouded forest vegetation which is the richest in flora and fauna.
Unfortunately this type of habitat has been destroyed in many areas of Central America, but in Honduras we still have good examples of it and La Tigra is one of the best. Bromeliads, orchids, ferns, and more than 200 bird species are just part of the park’s biodiversity.
During the hike we’ll have the chance to get in touch with nature in this beautiful privileged place. We’ll start walking at the Juteapa security post and take La Esperanza path to the highest point in the park until we reach the Bosque Nublado path.
Each one of the three preferred paths, La Esperanza, La Cascada, and El Bosque Nublado are completely signaled and become an incomparable experience.
We offer you two choices to visit La Tigra:
1 A 6 hour hike.
2 A 24-hour tour including a night at El Rosario or Juteapa Shelter, a fabulous experience that lets you hear the animal’s sounds after the sunset with a breathtaking concert given to you by the park’s birds. We invite you to live this unique experience.
Both options start and end in Tegucigalpa. Reserve Now!
