Tegucigalpa City Tour

Our tour starts in the historic center of Tegucigalpa. Here we will visit La Merced church, which was built in the mid XVII century, and was restored in the late XIX century. Very close by we can find Los Dolores church, it´s construction dates from 1732 and was raised as the new parish of Tegucigalpa because San Miguel Cathedral could not efficiently hold all the of the community parishoners. In our tour we will visit Metropolitan Cathedral, located in the city´s central plaza. It´s restoration is actually in process, this is an arquitectonic jewel of it´s time in barroque style. The cathedral posseses a precious altar, coated in gold, as a sign of the riches that were exploited in the late villa. We will walk through Paseo Liquidambar until we reach the old building of the National Mail - Men´s Museum, where we will have the opportunity to learn about the country´s history.

Afterwards we will move to La Leona Park where you can take pictures and observe colonial Tegucigalpa. We will continue our journey through the old city until we reach Barrio Guanacaste, following this we will reach Avenida La Paz, where we can see the country´s first hospital.

We will make a stop in Plaza España, one of the capital´s lookouts. And to finalize our tour we will visit Virgin Suyapa Basilic. We will return to each of your hotels after crossing through one of Central America´s most visited shopping mall.
